Touristic and social program of the AD12 Conference

Welcome Reception (Sunday, October 31, 2010; 19:00 – 21:00) Drinks and canapés will be served at the Fiesta Americana hotel in a friendly ambiance for greeting friends and meeting new colleagues.

Tequila Tour (Wednesday, November 03, 2010; 14:00 – 22:00) This is a very special touristic activity that offers to the participants a great opportunity to enjoy the beautiful blue agave landscape and an old tequila factory that uses the traditional way to produce this renowned spirituous beverage. Mexican dinner and tequila degustation will be enjoyed at the factory facilities.

Gala Dinner (Thursday, November 04, 2010; 19:00 – 23:00) The closing dinner will take place at the magnificent Cabañas hospice, one of the most important civil buildings, not only of Guadalajara, but Mexico due to its neoclassical architecture and the great mural paintings of José Clemente Orozco. this building has been declared a World heritage Site by UNESCO.

Tapatio Tour (Monday, November 01, 2010; 19:00 – 23:00). Relax and enjoy during this touristic journey through the most beautiful zones of Guadalajara. Take a look and get to know its history from a panoramic double-decker open bus that will allow you to enjoy a privileged perspective of the city.

Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) (Tuesday, November 02, 2010; 19:00 – 22:00). This is an extraordinary opportunity to live closely this Mexican tradition. The Day of the Dead (Spanish: el Día de Muertos) is a holiday celebrated in Mexico to remember friends and family members who passed away, in a happy, colorful and special way. Traditions include building private altars honoring the deceased, using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visiting graves with these as gifts.
